Kickboxing is a stand up combat sport. Kickboxing is based on kicking and punching, Kickboxing was historically developed as a hybrid martial art formed from Muay-Thai, Karate, and Western Boxing. Kickboxing has contributed to the emergence of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) via further hybridization with ground fighting techniques from Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Muay-Thai is a combat sport that derived in Thailand which uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient. Muay-Thai became widespread internationally in the twentieth century, when practitioners defeated notable practitioners of other martial arts.
Our Kickboxing and Muay-Thai classes are practiced for self-defense, general fitness, stress relief as well as contact sports. The class is set up for everyone from beginners to world class fighters!

PFMMA’s Cardio Kickboxing classes are exhilarating 1-hour calorie burning workouts featuring intense cardio focus and kickboxing instruction for all ages and skill-levels (adult and kids kickboxing). These cardio kickboxing classes are ideal for improving mobility, technique, strength and conditioning. After stretching and warming up, a motivating martial arts instructor will guide you on multiple punching and kicking techniques using drills such as shadow boxing, bag drills, and pad drills. There’s no live kickboxing sparring during these training sessions for males and females 13 and older, but you’ll feel more alive than ever when you learn proper technique for self-defense, fitness and/or full-contact competition.
