Tyson Griffin is Bay Area Native born and raised in Albany, California. As a youth Tyson was active sports and it was through sports Tyson learned invaluable life lessons.
At the age of 20, Tyson made the leap into professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). By the time he was 22 he had amassed a perfect 8-0 record and made his UFC debut an organization. He would represent the UFC for over half a decade earning multiple fight of the night honors and a fight of the year for his performance against Clay Guida. In 2014 Tyson decided to retire from active competition to focus on a new chapter in his life becoming an instructor. Tyson runs the PFMMA fight team, assists with the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program, and works with individuals teaching private classes.
